Our Mission

MTG Standard Decks is a historical archive dedicated to preserving the legacy of Magic: The Gathering's Standard format. Standard has always been the heartbeat of competitive Magic, a constantly shifting landscape of innovation, dominance, and adaptation.

We aim to document not just the decklists, but the rich stories behind them: why they worked, the metagame environment they existed in, and the specific synergies that elevated them to legendary status.

Our Methodology

Decks are selected, analyzed, and ranked based on a combination of rigorous historical factors:

• Win Rate & Dominance: Pro Tour finishes, Grand Prix Top 8 conversions, and overall tournament meta-share.
• Format Influence: How profoundly the deck warped the format around it, forcing other players to heavily adapt their sideboards.
• Longevity: Did the deck survive multiple set rotations, or was it a brief flash in the pan?
• Ban Impact: Decks powerful enough to force Wizards of the Coast to issue emergency bans are given special historical consideration.
